Project
started May 2026,
| This project is quite different from previous ones, we bought
the bike at the beginning of the riding season so I will be making
several upgrades between rides without taking the whole bike apart
yet. In the winter it will get repainted but for now Adele wants
to ride it! |

We tried a narrower seat that I had in my parts pile, better
but the front pivot will need modifying and we don't like the
gold colored springs. I replaced the 140/80 Avon with a 5.00 Shinko
tire, I really prefer a higher tire for that classic look
Another thing Adele wanted was a slightly longer rear fender and
a sissybar so she can bring her own camping supplies, and have
a comfortable backrest ofcourse. The fender she had was a bit
too wide for the tire anyway but I found one that will fit perfectly. |

| In the pics above you can see the bike with Shinko's front
and rear, and the gold seat springs have been replaced by black
ones. I will modify the seat pivot so the front of the seat
is as close to the frame as possible, and the seat itself will
be at a better angle.
|

| I removed the rear fender and started to copy the mounting
lugs for the new fender. The new fender is more round than the
old one, so I machined the mounting lug into the same shape for
maximum tire clearance; the total diameter of the wheel is bigger
with the Shinko. The notch in the old fender is there to clear
the battery, so I will probably need to notch the new fender also. |
